When In Doubt, You Wear Stripes

If you haven’t noticed striped shirts are taking over my closet, cropped, baggy, off the shoulder, thin stripes, short sleeve, long sleeves, I literally own them all (10 to be exact). To my defense, they go with everything, can be worn everywhere, and it’s a basic we all need in our closet. Plus, striped styles work with a variety of body types; keep in mind bold stripes are much more flattering on smaller frames, while smaller stripes are best suited for those with curves.

When I’m running errands I’m all about that comfort, which is why I went for casual vibes on this day. I paired my striped H&M top with my favorite Levi’s cut-off shorts, wrapped an olive green hoodie around my waist in case it got chilly, my white converse, and layered my Romeo necklace from Park Lane.

But if you are looking for other ways to wear that striped shirt here are some tips:

  • Dress it up by adding a bold necklace or pairing it with a pair of high-waist trousers in a fun color.
  •  Pair it with a sleek blazer or pencil skirt to make it office-appropriate
  • Wear it with a leather skirt or black leather pants on your next date night or an edgier look.
  • As I have mentioned before, mix and match with other patterns.

I’m not ready to say good-bye to summer and neither is Chicago! The weather has been gorgeous the last couple of days but I am kind of looking forward to wearing my booties, OTK boots, and cozy sweaters.

Thanks for stopping by! Xo, B!
