Hey guys! I seriously can’t believe Christmas Eve is only three days away!! I’m sure many of you are ready to spend time with the family and looking forward to a long weekend! If you’re coupled up this holiday season, you’ll most likely be heading with your beau to meet the parents. Meeting the parents for the first time can be a both very exciting time and, well, stressful. Which means the most important question becomes, “What am I going to wear?”(Or is it just me?) After all, you want to make a good first impression. I think it’s important to choose something you feel comfortable in. You don’t have to dress in all black, and if you do, look for a dress or blouse with some pretty detail.
If you aren’t sure what to wear, these 5 steps can help you nail the perfect “meet the parents” outfit this holiday.
Know Your Environment
Are you attending a small dinner, going out for dinner, or attending an over the top Christmas party?
Ask The BF How Conservative His Parents Are
Less is more. In this case make sure to show less skin and choose a more conservative top or a midi skirt (leave the mini skirt at home). A chunky knit sweater paired with a pencil skirt and pumps is polished and chic look.
Pull out the pieces that you feel most confident in and lay them out on your bed. Put a few outfits together and narrow it down to your two favorite looks. Not only will you look amazing, you’ll also be save money by recycling something you already have in your closet.
Keep It Classy
When you feel good, you look good. It’s important to stay true to your personal style but keep the short hemline and cleavage barring tops at home. A simple but classic outfit formula would be: LBD+ black pumps+ and fun statement earrings or necklace.
Red, White, & Blush Pink
These colors are universally flattering; no matter your skin or hair type.
Red is a classic shade that complements every skin tone, nothing stands out more than a crisp white look, and blush pink is feminine and the perfect touch of color.
I’m so excited for Christmas and really looking forward to spending time with my family. I hope these tips help!
