Hey fam! It’s been so long since I’ve last posted! I hope you guys are having an amazing summer so far! Today’s post is all about what to pack for that next trip overseas. When I was planning my trip to Portugal with my mom I knew I wanted to pack light yet stylish and comfortable. My goal was to pack everything into my carry on, and guess what, I DID it!! Once I got started I realized it was all about layering, my favorite basics, and sticking with lightweight pieces that I could easily mix and match. Also, I made sure that everything could work for day or night, simply by switching out my shoes and accessories. Keep scrolling to find my packing list on what to wear to Portugal.
If you are visiting during the summer months I recommend you pack neutral, lightweight, loose-fitting items. Once I started packing I noticed the majority of my color-palette were reds, pinks, whites, and denim. Plus, 80% of it was from Abercrombie & Fitch or Amazon! What I packed:
1 Abercrombie Match Set (easily can mix and match with other pieces)
3 pairs of shorts-Neutral Pull On Shorts, black and light denim)
I totally understand why they consider Portugal the San Fran of Europe. Portugal is an incredibly hilly country; so make sure to pack good comfortable footwear. I wouldn’t suggest bringing new sneakers or sandals, make sure you have worn them before your trip so you know that they wont cause blisters or are uncomfortable. At the end of the day your feet will be sore from all the walking, my mom and I walked 14K steps one day. I suggest you stay away from wedges and sandals with no grip. What I packed:
- 2 pairs of sneakers (White, Leopard Print)
- 3 casual sandals (Nude, White, Rose Gold)
- 1 block heel (leave your heels at home)
Yes it gets hot in Portugal, but the morning and evenings were chilly, which means you need to pack a cardigan, denim jacket, or lightweight sweater. What I packed:
I kept it simple in this department. You will want a hands free bag, such as a fanny pack or a cross body, and of course sunglasses. You have to protect that pretty face from the sun. What I packed:
- 2 pairs of sunglasses
- 2 neutral purses
- Fun earrings (to spice things up for dinner or rooftop bar)
- Sports bras (for travel)
- Basic black and white tee (for flights between cities and back home)
