Fitness Friday: 4 Tips to Get Motivated

Of course life can get busy, especially if you have a family, are a single mother, have a sick family member, work two jobs. We must learn to take care of ourselves as well. “Take care of yourself first or you will have nothing left to give others” I don’t’ know about you but working out makes me feel energized and clear-minded. I never walk out after class feeling upset or regret going to the gym. Living in Chicago, it can be challenging at times to drag yourself out of bed to make it to the gym on cold winter days. JUST DO IT!! After being out of the gym for quite some time it’s difficult to get motivated, it’s never too late to get back at it, put on your workout clothes, set some realistic goals, and get ready to sweat it out!

1.All You Need Is 20 Minutes

If you don’t have time to go to the gym everyday, all you need is 20 minutes of exercise per day and this can be done with little-to-no equipment. Sticks with interval training if you don’t know where to start invest in a workout video or head to a 30-minute express workout class during your lunch break. This allows you to get it out of the way just make sure to pack a lunch that you can eat at your desk.

  1. DIET!

I have to admit this is a struggle for me as well, who doesn’t love cheeseburgers, french fries, brownies, chips but what you eat is crucial and will help you shed those extra pounds. Try to pack a lunch and eat in so that you know exactly what you ate. If you go to dinner share the plate with your friend or boyfriend, stick with water, and try and stay away from dessert (tough). Stock up healthy snacks such as almonds, bananas, and apples leave the chips and candy bars at the store.

  1. Gym Buddy

I started working out with one of my best girlfriends Dragana a couple years back, this forced me to meet her at the gym and not let her down. Plus, it allowed us to catch up and motivate each other while we worked on our fitness.

  1. Do It Because You Love Yourself

One thing I can guarantee is that you will feel better about yourself, for me working out isn’t something I dread anymore it has become a part of my lifestyle. I look forward to putting on my workout gear and heading to the gym, especially when you start to see progress. That self-confidence will make it’s way out as time goes on, helping you in other areas of your life.    Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the gorgeous weather this weekend!! Xo, B!
