It's Okay To Take Time Out To...

Holaaaaa! I hope you guys are having a wonderful week so far! I am SO excited because it’s my birthday this weekend and I’m all about celebrating!! The truth is you never know if you’ll make it to next year to celebrate, so why not put on a pretty dress, enjoy a nice dinner, eat some cake (I can't wait), and surround yourself with the people you love!

I have a question for you guys, if you could take time out of your busy day and do anything you want, what would you do? We get so caught up in our routine (kids, family, work)- myself included- that we forget to take a step back and focus on ourselves. At the beginning of the year I wrote down a few things that I think are important and wanted to  “Take time out" to appreciate, enjoy, say, or do. I’ve noticed that when I’m in a good place I’m able to be a better daughter, sister, friend, co-worker etc. Here is my list:

Appreciate Your health

It’s something so many of us take for granted and it’s only until we burn ourselves out or someone near and dear to us is having health issues that we realize how lucky we are. Without health, nothing else matters.

Recharge

It’s important to give yourself permission to take a step back and not feel guilty about it. Take a bath at the end of the night, take a 45-min gym class, read the book sitting on your nightstand. Focus on you and try to find balance between family, work, and friends.

Do What Makes Your Soul Happy

It's the little things in life, like going to your favorite coffee shop and enjoying a cup of coffee, sitting at home reading a book, enjoying a lazy Sunday laying in bed all day binge watching your favorite show on Netflix with BAE, baking a batch of cookies, or whatever it is that makes you feel at peace and happy.

Help Someone

There is nothing more rewarding than helping someone else. Everyone can make a little time to help; you can help your neighbor by shoveling their snow, volunteering at a food bank, or helping a friend in need.

Saying I Love You

To everyone that means the world to me!

Spend Time With Family

The older I get the more I LOVE to spend time with my siblings and parents. I love having them over for dinner, catching a movie, or venting over coffee.

Travel Somewhere You’ve Never Been

There is a whole world out there with different customs, culture, and ways of life! Each country in the world has something different and so many things to learn. You don’t have to leave the United States; you can experience some of the world’s most beautiful sites here.

Say Thank You

It never hurts to say “Thank you”. Plus, there is always something to be thankful for.

Take Care Of Your Body

It’s important to treat your body with love and respect. It’s important for me to to care of myself because I need the energy to take care of my patients. Regular exercise, sleep, and a balanced diet are key to a healthy life.

Unplug

Yup, I’m learning to put my phone away and enjoy the moment. This is something my boyfriend has taught me, when we are together I have his undivided attention and his phone isn’t in his hands. I have to admit it's hard at time but I want to show him the same respect and be present.

Because what I learned this year is that a life well lived is a precious gift, time keeps moving no matter what you do, and there is no better time to start living than today! You can shop this look down below!
