How To Make The Most Of Your Basics & Save Money

It’s always fun to try trends because it adds some variety to your wardrobe. I know I love to get new trendy pieces every season or if I’m going on vacation but at the end of the day, it’s the basic pieces that get the most wear. What’s are basics? Basics are the pieces in your closet that are versatile, timeless, and that you'll wear time and time again. For me that would be a classic pair of Levi jeans, comfortable black booties, or long sleeve black turtleneck. This outfit is a perfect example, I had twenty minutes to get ready and these basics saved the day. Plus, I've worn all these pieces separately on other blog post before.

Classic Denim

I’ve said this before but a good pair of jeans is a game changer. You will look and feel confident when you put on a great pair of jeans. I always suggest you splurge on jeans because the “cost-per-wear” is worth it. You’ll see that the $150 jeans you’ve worn 50 times was a better buy than the $30 jeans that you have to keep pulling up.

Black Turtleneck

The turtleneck is the perfect neutral canvas that looks elegant and can be paired with almost everything. You can also achieve an effortless off-duty look layered under a suede moto jacket with ankle boots and an oversized scarf.

Black Coat

It’s warm, stylish, and you can mix and match it with any color.

Black Ankle Booties

They’ve become a wardrobe staple and almost every girl I know owns a pair! Again, this is another staple I think you should splurge on because you’ll reach for these way more than you will for that trendy $50 leopard print boot.

Classic Watch

The perfect accessory to add when you are walking out the door is a watch. It’s a classic and can represent your personality and style. This beautiful watch from Daniel Wellington was made for me!

These are just a few basics that I have in my closet that I think will make getting ready in the morning quick and easy. If you are looking to add a watch or just want to add a new one head over to danielwellington.com to get 15% off using promo codeWINDYSTYLE.
