When To Splurge & Save On Workout Clothes + My Workout Essentials
Happy Hump Day! If you're in need of a little extra fitness motivation this post is for you! Raise your hand if you have an addiction to leggings 🙋🏻‍♀️. I'm guilty of owning way too many black workout leggings because they are all “different”. I work out 3-4 times a week and I believe that when you look good, you feel good and you work out harder. I personally don’t mind spending a little more on leggings because I don’t want to be adjusting my leggings every few seconds or worrying if they are see through. A few of my favorite brands are Nike, Gap, Lululemon, and Alo because after washing my leggings 50 times, they’ve held on to their elasticity and hug all the right places. I don’t know about you but I’ve wanted to work out, just so I can put on my new sneakers or workout clothes. It gets me pumped and motivates me to hit the gym harder.
Plus, a great pair of leggings can be worn to the grocery store, to run errands, around the house, or to meet a friend for coffee. What if you’re on a budget or don’t feel like spending a lot of money on workout clothes. Keep reading to find out what you should splurge or save on!
Spend The Money On
Leggings
Quality over quantity, I don't mind spending a little extra on leggings because after numerous times in the washer, withstanding daily wear, and sweat they still look like new. Plus, you don't have to worry about the person behind you knowing the color of your undies.
Sports Bra
Regardless of your cup size you need a good sports bra. Our breast move around when working out, they are made of fatty tissue that’s surrounded by fragile ligaments. Not having the right support can cause your breast to sag and that ligament to stretch. A good sports bra supports your breast allowing you to workout comfortably without worrying about pain.
Gym shoes
They are your foundations and investing in a well-fitted shoe can prevent damage and issues in the long run.
Save The Money On:
Don't waste your money on tank tops, water bottles, or socks.
I’ve rounded my favorite items I own + a few that are on my wish list and under $50!
NYC Black Cap- This is one of my favorite hats that I wear when I'm taking an outdoor workout class in the summer or taking an early flight. Plus, it’s my best friend when I’m having a bad hair day.
Sports Bra- I usually buy my sports bras at Lululemon but recently purchase this black Nike sports bra and I love it. It's comfortable, keeps the girls in place, and it looks super cute under my tanks.
Sneakers- I LOVE my Nikes (in purple) because they are incredible lightweight and comfortable. Plus, they look great outside of the gym too. I went shopping with my boyfriend a few weeks back and I wanted to walk out of the store with the Nike Free TR7 in blush. I tried to convince myself that I didn't need them but I just ordered them!
Leggings- My go-to style are high-waisted leggings because they fit great and stay in place. You can always go for a classic black or add some color. How cute are these pink leggings?!
Tanks- These tanks have a relaxed fit, are lightweight, and they wick sweat away.
Water bottle- I'm a sucker for anything rose gold or pink. I mean, how cute is this water bottle!?
Hair Ties- A friend introduced me to these hair ties and I love that they don't damage my hair and hold my thick hair in place. I double them up when I'm doing a HIIT class or running on the treadmill.
I hope this helped you guys out when deciding where to spend that hard earned money! Thanks for stopping by, I love you guys!!
