Our Spring Wedding In Chicago- Galleria Marchetti
Our Wedding
Ohh my heart! Going through our photos to create this very special post really brought out so many emotions! As many of you know, Alex and I got married on May 7, 2021 after we had to postpone our wedding like so many other couples due to Covid and it was totally worth the wait!! The entire day went by quicker than I can even say! It was a beautiful day and I think I can speak for both Alex and I when I say we have never felt more LOVED in our entire life. We’re so thankful for all of our friends and family who traveled to celebrate with us and for our incredible vendors who went above and beyond for us. I am thrilled to finally share our wedding photos and share some details on our inspiration and vendors.
When the morning of our wedding finally arrived, I woke up without an alarm around 7:30. I took a quick shower, slipped into my beautiful white lace robe from Nordstrom, and started my day with a cup of coffee. The next few hours consisted of the arrival of the hair and makeup team, getting ready together with the girls and my mom in our suite, and just catching up with everyone. Thank you to my glam squad dream team Shannon and Megan for making me feel like a princess the day of my wedding. I’ve never felt more beautiful. They brought my vision of retro glam to life and I couldn’t be happier.
After the glow up, it was time to slip into my dress; I can still remember the excitement and happiness I felt at that moment. Though I tried on what felt like hundreds of dresses, when I slipped into my figure-hugging strapless Berta Privee gown, I knew it was the ONE. I loved the detailed embroidery, the luxurious fabrics, and the stunning train. It was the perfect amount of sexy and classy and I couldn’t wait for my future husband to see me in it.
The inspiration behind our wedding was classic romantic glamour. I wanted my flowers, jewelry, hairstyle, and venue to reflect that. Our ceremony and reception were held at the same location - Galleria Marchetti. Our journey for finding the right venue was long, but the moment I stepped foot into The Pavilion I knew I had found our venue. Everything from the multiple glimmering chandeliers, elegant tent, the dreamy courtyard made me know that this was it.
The range of packages and offerings at Galleria Marchetti gave us exactly what we wanted. We had so much fun throughout the whole process: trying the food at the tasting, selecting our linen, designing the layout, and picking our late- night bites. The venue itself is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The ivy wall, fire pits, and garden make Galleria Marchetti a very special venue. Natalie was such a sweetheart, super professional, and always made sure to communicate with us with any Covid updates.
Our ceremony was held in the courtyard which felt like a secret garden in the middle of the city. The ceremony started at 5:30 and lasted about 25 minutes. Pastor Chris kept it short and sweet, the perfect duration for a chilly day.
The reception was EVERYTHING I could have dreamt of and more! The centerpieces were perfect and the space was just beautiful. Thank you so much to Marta from Lavenderfields for your kindness and hard work. Everything was absolutely perfect! All night long you could find me on the dance floor (or the bar)! The wedding reception, dinner and all-night-long wedding party hold some of the most precious memories for us: the heartwarming speeches, the father-daughter dance, our first dance (we chose John Legend’s “Conversations in the Dark”), the fun and laughter filling the room and simply being surrounded by family and friends after the terrible year we all had was amazing. I had so many friends call/text me and tell me how much fun they had and that our DJ was playing the HITS!
The fact that we were able to get married in the West Loop where our love story started, in front of 100 of our closest friends and family after dealing with Covid was a dream come true.
The whole day really was truly magical and I wish I could relive our special day all over again.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
