Weddings take a long time to plan and some things need to be figured out sooner rather than later. But, this is also a time for you and your fiancé to enjoy and celebrate with family and friends.  You don’t need to think about everything right away, even if other people make you feel like you do. I hope these tips are helpful to any bride to be

Get Your Ring Sized - Yes, you just received that beautiful ring and to be honest I didn’t’ want to part with mine but it’s so important. I had my ring sized in 24 hours and it sucks but it’s not worth wearing a ring that could slip off and get lost (I would seriously die).

Celebrate!! – Get all the people you love in one room and celebrate because you just got ENGAGED! We wanted to hit pause on the wedding planning for a sec and take it all in. This is the one and only time in your life the people you love will celebrate you and only you. So enjoy it!!

Set A Budget- It’s safe to say I want ALL the things but I need to pump the breaks and figure out how much we want to spend on our special day. Prior to making any wedding decisions, you need to figure out what you have to spend. Sit down with your fiancé, your families, and get this settled asap so you can start choosing your vendors.

Pick Your Date- Venues book up far in advance and you can’t do anything else until you have your date set in stone. Living in Chicago we have to take the weather into consideration and what works for both your families.

Choose Your Bridal Party- Who will be your maid of honor and best man? How many bridesmaids and groomsmen do you want? Will you include your siblings? These questions are important and will help decide who will stand with you on your special day. If you are having trouble narrowing it down ask yourself: Will I be just as close to this person in five years?

Gather Inspiration- You’ve decided on a budget, you have your date, now the fun stuff begins! Create a Pintrest board, save photos on Instagram, and create a Google Doc.

There is so much to do after you get engaged, but taking time to be thankful and enjoy the process! You’re only going to do this once so make sure to soak in all the love and joy!
