When To Splurge & Save On Workout Clothes + My Workout Essentials

Happy Hump Day!! If you need a little extra fitness motivation this post is for you! Raise your hand 🙋🏻‍♀️ if you have an addiction to leggings- I know a lot of you reading this raised your hand. I’m guilty of owning way too many black workout leggings because they’re all “different”. I work out 3-4 times a week and I believe that when you look good, you feel good and you work out harder. I personally don’t mind spending a little more on leggings because I don’t want to be adjusting my leggings every few seconds or worrying if they are see through. A few of my favorite brands are Nike,Gap, Lululemon, and Alo because after washing my leggings 50 times, they’ve held on to their elasticity and hug all the right places. I don’t know about you but I’ve wanted to work out, just so I can put on my new sneakers or workout clothes. It gets me pumped and motivates me to hit the gym harder.

Plus, a great pair of leggings can be worn to the grocery store, to run errands, around the house, or to meet a friend for coffee. What if you’re on a budget or don’t feel like spending a lot of money on workout clothes. Keep reading to see what you should splurge or save on!

Spend the money on

Leggings

Quality over quantity, if you work out regularly splurge on a good pair of leggings that will withstand numerous times in the washing machine, daily wear, and they aren’t see through. I go for a high-waisted style from Lululemon, Gap, and Alo. Tip: Be sure to let your leggings air dry so they last even longer.

Sports Bra

Regardless of your cup size you need a good sports bra. Our breast move around when working out, they are made of fatty tissue that’s surrounded by fragile ligaments. Not having the right support can cause your breast to sag and that ligament to stretch. A good sports bra supports your breast allowing you to workout comfortably without worrying about pain.

Gym shoes

They are your foundations and investing in a well-fitted shoe can prevent damage and issues in the long run.

Save The Money On

Don’t spend too much on tank tops, water bottles, or socks.

I’ve rounded my favorite items I own + a few that are on my wish list and under $50!

NYC Black Cap I wear a hat when I know I’m going to run outside. Plus, it’s my best friend when I’m having a bad hair day or don’t feel like putting my hair up in a bun.

Sports Bra-I usually buy my sports bras at Lululemon but I ordered this Nike sports bra in black and I love it! It isn’t too tights, keeps them in place, and looks great under my tanks.

Sneakers- I LOVE my Nikes (the purple pair)- they’re incredible lightweight and comfortable! Plus, they look great outside of the gym too. A few weeks back I went shopping with my boyfriend and I wanted to walk out with Nike Free TR7 (pink pair). I tried to tell myself I didn’t need them but I just ordered them!

Leggings– Spend the money on the leggings! Go with a classic black or add some color with these pink leggings.

Tanks Pink or Black – These tanks have a relaxed fit, longer hemline, and wick sweat away.

Water bottle- I’m a sucker for anything rose gold or pink and this water bottle is so fun!

Hair Ties– A friend introduced me to these hair ties and they are amazing!! I have thick hair and they are strong enough to hold my hair in place and they don’t damage it.

Stay warm out there and keep working hard!! Thanks for stopping by! Xo, B!
