Finding the perfect foundation for your skin tone can be tricky and at times tough; the stores are full of so many options of foundations, it can be overwhelming. I’m guilty of buying a foundation only to get home and totally hate how it feels and looks on my skin. We all want our foundation to give us a flawless and natural look; people shouldn’t know that you put on product.I personally don’t’ wear foundation on an every day basis, which is why I’m sharing my go-to foundation that I like to wear on the weekends or evenings and a tinted moisturizer for days.

MAKE UP FOR EVER- Ultra HD- I love this medium-to- full coverage liquid foundation because it’s lightweight, hydrating, and gives you a natural looking finish. I recently tried the stick foundation and it gives you the same beautiful finish.

LAURA MERCIER-Tinted Moisturizer- What’s not to love about this light coverage tinted moisturizer, it gives you a touch of color and dewy glow, while protecting your skin from harmful UV rays, and it contains anti-aging antioxidants like vitamin C and E. This was the first tinted moisturizer I ever tried and I have yet to find another product that gives me the same subtle glow and light coverage.Btw, if you are prone to acne, try  Laura Mercier oil-free version instead. Are you still trying to find that perfect shade? Here is my easy guide to help you find the perfect formula:1. Skin Type.

  • Dry- I would pick a liquid or stick foundation.

  • Oily- Go with a powder foundation, it will absorb oil, leaving you with a matte, smooth finish.

  • Combination- you can go either or and just add some powder to your t-zone

2. What type of coverageHow much natural skin do you want to show through your foundations?

  • Full coverage- will hide any blemish

  • Medium coverage- will cover up discoloration, blemishes, and redness from pimples.

  • Light coverage- you would go with a tinted moisturizer or BB cream, it would not conceal or hide a skin blemish.

3. Find your skin undertoneIf you don’t know what this is ask a rep for help. An associate at Sephora suggested I look at the veins on my wrist, my veins are blue-green, and I have neutral undertones.4.Test foundation shade against your jawline NOT the back of your handGo near a window to try and find some natural light.Any other suggestions you ladies might add? I hope this helps you find that perfect shade to give you a flawless and natural look.
