Weekend in Boulder- Where to Stay, Eat, and Play.
Hey guys! Today I’m sharing a quick recap of my trip to Boulder this past weekend with my friend Schuda. We met ten years ago interning at People’s Revolution in NYC, we instantly clicked and the rest is history! We decided to book a trip to Boulder and I’m so happy I was able to spend the weekend catching up with her while enjoying all the delicious food, and exploring the beautiful city of Boulder together! The charming town of Boulder is only 29 miles northwest of Denver.
Boulder is a cool city, with a laid-back vibe, that offers something for everyone. Waking up to the Flatirons Mountains dusted in snow every morning was such a treat. The breathtaking scenery, charming downtown, and amazing food and shopping are just a few of the reason why I fell in love with Boulder. Here are a few recommendations + everything we did on our trip!
STAY
Air BNBIf you don’t feel like renting a car and want to save on Ubers I would suggest you stay near Pearl Street. We found a charming apartment in downtown Boulder that was walking distance to restaurants, bus lines, and Pearl Street. Jen was amazing and the apartment was clean and perfect for a weekend in Boulder.
Brunch:
River and Woods- Get ready for bottomless mimosas for only $12 dollars! The brunch here was absolutely delicious; I wanted to try everything on the menu. Plus, every month the menu changes, the chef chooses recipes from local families and adds them to the menu.
Lunch:The KitchenThe Kitchen is a farm-to-table American food that offers fresh salads, burgers, and large entrees.
Coffee Shops:BoxCar- It was my favorite! It has a variety of sweet and savory treats, delicious coffee, and did I mention there is a wine bar in the back?!
Trident- a great spot for people watching, find delicious coffee, and it’s attached to a bookstore.
Ozo- this coffee shop offers Latte Art.
Dinner
We had dinner at Oak our first night, the food is fresh and local grown and the wine selection was great. We both love to each and shared the large dishes as well as small dishes and everything was incredible. If you are craving Pizza head over to Pizza Locale and try their Naples-style pies! On our last night in Boulder we enjoyed rabbit pappardelle at Mateo, a French restaurant that you HAVE to check out and make sure to try this dish.
Late Night:
Bitter Bar
This cozy bar offers the most delicious Hot Toddy I’ve ever tasted. Grab a seat next to the fireplace if you can and enjoy one of their handcrafted cocktails.
WHAT TO DO
Pearl Street- Pearl Street offers four blocks of cool shops, entertainment, restaurants, coffee shops, with views of the Rockies in the background.
Eldora Ski Resort:When you are ready to hit the slopes head over to Eldora Mountain Resort. You can take an Uber ($35-$45) or if you’re looking to save some money the bus will get your there for only $9! It's 30 minutes from Boulder and it's perfect for beginner and skilled skiers.
Spa or YogaIf there is something that Boulder has it is yoga studios and spas! Make sure to take a day to relax and get pampered at St Julien Hotel and Spa.
